Professor Paul Griffiths is a Professor of Practice at the University of New South Wales, working at the East Asia and Pacific Hub of the Childlight global child safety institute. He recently retired, after almost 35 years in law enforcement with Queensland Police Service, in Australia, and previously in the United Kingdom with Greater Manchester Police, the National Crime Squad (NCS) and the Child Exploitation and Online Protection (CEOP) Centre. Paul is a long-standing member of the INTERPOL Specialist Group on Crimes against Children. He was chair of both the Computer Facilitated Crimes against Children and the Child Victim Identification sub-groups, before serving as overall chair for six years. Paul has almost 30 years’ experience investigating online child abuse, particularly in child victim identification. He recently completed a study into techniques successfully employed in victim identification cases worldwide. Paul continues to share this knowledge and experience through his work with Childlight.
