Eric Pinkerton is a Detective Sergeant with the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), a provincial law enforcement agency in Canada. He began his law enforcement career in 2007, serving in a frontline policing capacity. In 2013, he transitioned to the Digital Forensics Unit as a Detective Constable and Forensic Analyst, specializing in Child Sexual Abuse Material investigations.
In 2018, Eric joined the OPP Child Sexual Exploitation Unit, taking on an investigative role focused on child sexual abuse cases. He was promoted to Detective Sergeant in 2020 within the same unit. He currently supervises the Darknet Disruption Team, a specialized team targeting offenders operating within the anonymity of the dark web.
