Dr Deirdre Thompson is Bravehearts Director of Therapeutic and Support Services. She is a clinical psychologist with over 30 years of experience in the UK and Australia within both community and forensic setting. Deirdre provides oversight to all Bravehearts client services including, Counselling, Turning Corners, Redress Support Service, The Courage Project and the Bravehearts National Information and Support Line. Deirdre was responsible for the development and implementation of the Turning Corners Program, established in Queensland to provide an early intervention and support service for young people at risk of, or engaging in Harmful Sexual Behaviours. She is a member of the National Clinical Reference Group for Harmful Sexual Behaviours, which was established under the National Strategy to Prevent and Respond to Child Sexual Abuse 2021 – 2030.
