Social Network Analysis (SNA) is widely accepted as a tool to disrupt criminal networks. Less understood is its value in developing investigator networks to help combat global crime types, including child sexual exploitation. While law enforcement agencies have formal terms of engagement, the operational realities are that it is the relationships that exist at the personal level that real collaboration and results occur. This workshop introduces the power of SNA at the investigator level. Participants will map their personal networks to understand reach, redundancy and risk. Investigators new to the field can better understand how to strategically develop their networks, while seasoned investigators and team leaders can learn how to develop team and agency networks without reputational risk.
