AiLECS Lab
Associate Professor Campbell Wilson is the Principal Chief Investigator and Monash University Co-Director of the AiLECS Lab. His research focuses on artificial intelligence and machine learning, with a particular emphasis on applications that enhance community safety. His broader research interests include digital forensics, information retrieval, and bioinformatics.
Campbell has held several senior leadership roles within the Faculty of Information Technology at Monash University, including Associate Head of School and Associate Dean (International). Recognised as a compassionate and transformative leader, he has supported interdisciplinary collaborations that connect technological innovation with complex social and community safety challenges.
Campbell was the Chief Investigator on the AiLECS project “Survivor Perspectives on Institutional Use of Child Sexual Abuse Material.” In this role, he led the research program and supervised the interdisciplinary team, supporting the integration of advanced technological expertise with ethical, survivor-informed approaches to examining institutional engagement with child sexual abuse material.
