Jarryd Dunbar has been a member of the Australian Federal Police for 20 years and is currently performing the role of AFP Liaison Officer based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Central to this role is to provide capability uplift and operational support to the Royal Malaysia Police in the investigation of online child sexual exploitation and transnational and serious organized crime. Jarryd has developed and facilitated training focused on Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT), digital evidence field triage, victim identification and led international law enforcement efforts to detect and respond to emerging child sexual exploitation risks in the ASEAN region.
Prior to undertaking his current role, Jarryd led the AFP Child Protection Operations team in AFP Eastern Command. In this role he led multiple teams responsible for investigations into online child sexual exploitation and abuse, including those involved in AFP Operation ARKSTONE.
Jarryd has represented the AFP across numerous domestic and international platforms, utilising his experience in CSE investigations to shape legislative change.
